General Questions

  • Do you provide cleaning products and cleaning equipment?

Please note that our end-of-tenancy cleaning services include the supply of necessary products and equipment. However, for any other cleaning services, the cost does not encompass the provision of cleaning products and equipment. To facilitate your cleaning process, we will be sending you our suggested product list via email. Kindly review the list to ensure you have the requisite items in your inventory. Should you require assistance in acquiring these items, we offer the option to supply all recommended products and equipment for an additional charge of £25.00.

  • Can I book a trial session?

The first cleaning session serves as a trial period. If you are satisfied with the assigned cleaner, you may opt to continue with regular cleaning sessions. Alternatively, if you are not entirely satisfied, we can arrange for a replacement cleaner to meet your preferences.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash payments and bank transfers, including standing orders. For One-Off Cleaning services, payment is required either in cash upon completion or through advance bank transfer.

  • Do I incur charges if I choose to cancel my cleaning service?

No, there are no charges for cancellation, provided you give us a minimum of 48 hours' notice. You retain the right to cancel up to three cleaning services within a year without any financial implications. However, should you cancel more than three cleaning services in a year or fail to provide the requisite 48-hour notice, a payment equivalent to 100% of the normal service charge will be required.

  • Is it necessary for me to provide a set of keys?

No, it is not obligatory to provide us with a key if you are present at home during the scheduled cleaning session. However, kindly note that failing to cancel your cleaning appointment in advance and being absent during the scheduled time will incur a charge equivalent to 100% of your regular service fee. While it is customary for most of our clients to entrust us with their keys, we respect your decision if you prefer not to do so. Should you opt to provide us with a key, rest assured that it will be securely stored by the assigned cleaner.

Cleaning Questions

  • What tasks are not typically included in our standard cleaning service?

Typically, our standard cleaning services around London do not include tasks such as interior window washing, carpet cleaning, floor waxing, or intensive cleaning of kitchens and bathrooms. Furthermore, they usually do not involve moving any furniture or handling any accidental pet stains or odours. Additionally, our regular cleaning services do not include any repair or maintenance work. While we happily carry out routine tasks like dusting, vacuuming, and mopping to maintain cleanliness, unfortunately, we don't offer the extensive deep cleaning provided by specialised services. If you need any of these additional services, we advise you to book our deep cleaning service with our professionals who specialise in that specific area.

  • Is there a minimum required number of hours for hiring your services?

Yes, for our regular cleaning services, there is a required minimum of 2.5 hours per visit.

  • What if my regular cleaner is sick or on holiday?

We'll always have a replacement to cover for your usual cleaner in case of illness or any other kind of absence.

  • What if I'm not happy with my cleaner?

While it's unlikely that you'll be dissatisfied with the cleaning standard provided by our cleaning staff, we understand that concerns may arise. If you have any complaints or wish to make changes to our current arrangements, please feel free to email us at office@lillysmaid.co.uk, give us a call at 02 080 504 284 , or contact one of our supervisors directly.

  • What if I’m going on holiday and won’t require your cleaning services for a period of time?

We strongly recommend deep cleaning your property while you are on holiday. Professional deep cleaning usually costs a fortune, but we can do it for a fraction of that at your regular cleaning rate. We can deep clean your fridge, freezer, oven, and windows, remove old dirt from your wall tiles, clean the kitchen extractor, and remove old water scales from shower screens, taps, kitchen unit interiors, etc. It is always nice to come back from a holiday to a fresh and sparkling house. There is no obligation to do so, but most of our customers decide to do that. Otherwise, you can let us know at least one week ahead that you would like to pause our cleaning services. You have the right to cancel up to three cleaning services in any period of 365 days.

  • How do you vet your cleaners?

Our cleaners undergo thorough vetting, including checks for passports, full UK driving licenses, addresses, migration status, and DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks. Additionally, they are required to pass a test on common cleaning tasks. Candidates who complete the vetting process then undergo intensive training and work under our supervision. After a couple of weeks of training, our cleaning staff is prepared to work independently on our customers' properties.
